Mid Morn With Jojo

I love the last little sequence of jojo playing with her dog, and especially how much entertainment the other one is getting out of it. I was just a bystander of this mad dog dancing - the kind of moment I'm always so happy I had my camera for. Also, the guy playing his guitar by the great lawn was kind of taken aback when I told him he sounded like Woody Guthrie - but I told him to keep playing and pretend I wasn't there - I guess I should have waited until after...I still like the shots though, so it's all gudi ;)

I really don't prefer taking nature shots, but here on Nantucket it's pretty much all I've got. I think it's a healthy obstacle though because when I take pictures of humans, it's easy for me to capture their emotions. But with nature photography, I really have to manifest it on my own because I can't tell a tree look one way or make this expression - it just is as it is.

Serenella Nantucket Popup Store / M.G.H. Charity Party

I was hired to take pictures at this event on 7/20 at the White Elephant hotel on Nantucket. "10% of proceeds supported MassGeneral Hospital for Children MGHfC (Storybook Ball)" - Serenella on twitter (http://twitter.com/serenellabos). It was a great cause and I got to snap some nice pics while enjoying everyone's company that afternoon. The rest of the event's photos are on my facebook, and soon to be on Serenella's facebook too (http://www.facebook.com/serenella.boston).

MoMA a few weeks back

I went to the MoMA about three weeks ago. This picture of the man looking at the photos on a wall in the Woman in Photography exhibit. I love that a modern man is looking at woman's photography because it shows the huge contrast between this, and what photography used to consist mostly of - men. That to me is beautiful and ironic, how time changes everything. That's my friend Bella sitting in a room with those white squares lining the space above the floor in two lines on opposite sides of the room. Each square was characterized with a unique voice, and they were all saying different days of the week in random order. It's hard to pick apart one voice from the next when just in the midst of it all. Kinda crazy. My friends ordered the fruit and berry cobbler, while I sticked to some good ol' ice coffee. On the way home I saw the shoes on these guys. The one on the right sort of reminded me of shoes Lady Gaga would wear. And that's a huge compliment.
