I saw this father and son this past summer on Coney Island. One hand holding his son and the other holds a cigarette. Addiction and love seem much too intertwined with one another in this moment. It seems like a balancing act to me. But who is the man trying to convince? His son, or himself? This photo also represents the struggle of parenting to me, like a "do as I say, but not as I do" sort of situation.
